Things are changing––fast! All our human structures and worldly foundations are rocking with the wind. The only thing that has not and will not change is Jesus Christ! Hebrews 13: 7-9 describes how our faith is built on the eternal foundation of Christ, saying, “Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.” In the midst of great change, our faith in Christ should not change because Jesus Christ does not change. If our faith is in Christ, we can be truly confident that no matter how many other things shift and twist in the winds of time and thought, God remains steadfast. This is very important as we grasp the truth of God’s Word. The LORD is the only foundation that never changes.
This month we continue to study in Acts, Romans, First and Second Corinthians, as well as Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians. Acts emphasizes the challenges we will face when living for Jesus Christ. Paul’s letters to the churches help explain the deeper meanings of Scripture, our calling, and church fellowship. No matter how much we think or reason, God’s nature does not change.
We must never cling to a new doctrine. The Word of God is the wellspring of our faith. I urge you to continue reading with us as we discover God’s messages to us in the New Testament. It is God speaking to us today!
