Our Statement of Faith

We believe in the Holy Trinity––Father, Son, Holy Spirit––one God in three persons, creator of all things visible and invisible. (Genesis 1:1-2; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1-4,14, 4:24, 14:26; Romans 9:5)

We believe God the Father is the one true God, who is a transcendent, immanent, nonmaterial, immutable, self-sufficient, self-existent, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent, eternal, sovereign, glorious, holy, yet personal Being, the essence of faith, righteousness, justice, grace, mercy, love, truth, and life. (Genesis 18:25; Exodus 3:5-6, 14, 34:6-7; Deuteronomy 6:4, 7:7-8, 32:4; Psalm 25:8, 90:1-2, 115:3, 139:7-10, 145:17, 147:5,8; Isaiah 6:3, 55:8-9, 57:15; Jeremiah 9:24, 23:23-24, 32:17; Malachi 3:6; Matthew 5:45, 10:29, 19:26; Acts 17:27-28; Romans 8:35-39, 9:15-16, 11:33,36; Ephesians 2:4; Colossians 1:15; 2 Timothy 2:13; Hebrews 4:13,16; James 1:17; 1 John 4:8,16; Revelation 4:8)

We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of the living God, who is truly God and truly man, co-essential in eternal pre-incarnate glory with the Father and that through Him all things were made. He came down from heaven, became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and lived a perfect sinless life as the image of the invisible God. He then suffered and died by crucifixion on the cross as a substitute for our sins once for all, descended into hell, rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended to heaven in the flesh for the redemption and salvation of mankind for those who believe in Him. He is seated at the right hand of the Father as King, High Priest, and Lord and will personally return to judge the living and the dead and reign over His kingdom forever. (John 1:1-3,14, 8:23, 20:8-9,17,27-29; Acts 1:9-11; Colossians 1:15-19, 2:9; 1 John 3:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15, 13:8; 1 Peter 2:24; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 4:9-10; John 3:16-21; Luke 1:31-33; Daniel 7:21-22, 27; Revelation 20:11-15, 22:5)

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and is sent by the Son, who spoke through the prophets and apostles, through whom the Father and Son is worshiped and glorified. His inner witness testifies the truth of Jesus Christ, as the Spirit of Christ, and therefore indwells, baptizes, regenerates, sanctifies, justifies, and strengthens the believer with spiritual gifts, equips the believer for good works and perseverance, leads the believer into all truth, seals the believer for the day of redemption, and convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. (Genesis 2:7; Ezekiel 36:27; John 15:26, 16:7-15; Acts 1:5, 2:38, 5:3-4, 19:6; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7; 2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, 12:3; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30)

We believe in the historical Adam and Eve specially created in the image of God de novo as the sole progenitors of mankind, who voluntarily disobeyed God’s command whence sin and death entered the world. As a result, every descendant and all mankind is born blemished, broken, and alienated from God through the act of rebellion, subject to the cosmic powers of darkness, spiritual forces of evil, divine separation of iniquity, and the sickness of sin––hardness of heart, darkness of mind, self-deceitfulness and suppression of truth, lies, sexual impurity, gluttony, lust, greed, despondency, slothfulness, vanity, pride, idolatry, hostility toward God, lovers of death and all kinds of evil––condemned to physical and spiritual death by nature and, therefore, completely incapable of restoring the image of God and obtaining salvation on their own terms, works, or merit. (Genesis 1:27, 3:6-24, 8:21; Psalm 51:5, 58:3; Proverbs 8:36; Ecclesiastes 7:20; Isaiah 43:8, 44:18, 59:2; Jeremiah 17:9; Matthew 7:11, 9:11-13; Romans 1:18-32; 3:10,23, 5:12, 6:23; Ephesians 4:18-19, 6:12; Colossians 1:21-23, 3:9-10)

We believe that God commands all people everywhere to repent, to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, and to receive and share in the Holy Spirit, so that their sins may be forgiven and blotted out forever. His invisible attributes, divine nature, and eternal power are plainly visible and perceptible through creation, conscience, and reason so that mankind is truly without excuse but to repent. God loves the world and so sent His Son to save the world, not to condemn the world, for He desires that none should perish but that all people whom He calls would come to repentance to have eternal life. Those who do not repent and believe but reject God truly hate goodness and truth and will continue in evil and wickedness. Therefore, every person is subject to final judgment, either the mercy or wrath of God. (John 3:16-21; Romans 1:18-20; Acts 2:38-39, 3:19, 17:30; 1 Timothy 2:4-6, 4:10; 1 John 2:2; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 22:14; Romans 11:30-32, 15:8-9; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

We believe salvation and eternal life begins immediately upon the repentance and belief in Jesus Christ as Lord for the redemption of our sin, and that by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, which is proven by participating in Spirit and persevering till death, a person will be saved for eternal life. Every believer is, thus, being conformed to the image of the invisible God and restored to His likeness here on earth, sanctified and justified by the Holy Spirit. (John 3:16; Romans 8:29, 10:9-13; 1 Corinthians 15:49; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 3:9-10)

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the adoption of sonship, the restoration of our body and soul, and the hope of eternal life in the world to come––a new heaven and a new earth––free from sin and death to reign with Jesus Christ like the sun in glory forever. Amen. (Isaiah 60:19; Matthew 13:43; Romans 8:15,21,23,30; 21; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; Galatians 4:4-5; Ephesians 1:4-5; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14; 2 Timothy 2:12, 4:1; Revelation 20:4-6, 21:1-4,22-26, 22:1-5)

We believe Holy Scripture was not spoken nor written by the limited and fallible will of man but was superintended and spoken from the will of God as men in God’s image were inspired and carried along by the Holy Spirit––who is Himself Truth––utilizing human language as a progressive means of divine revelation. While the origin of Holy Scripture is divine and, therefore, true and reliable in all that it teaches and addresses, the mode of divine inspiration, which utilizes the distinctive personalities and literary styles of the writers whom God had chosen and prepared, is a mystery. (Isaiah 40:8, 55:8-11; Matthew 5:18, 24:35; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe Holy Scripture and all its parts, all sixty-six autographic books comprising the Old and New Testaments, is God-breathed, authoritative, infallible, and inerrant, wholly and verbally free from all falsehood, fraud, or deceit in all that it teaches, down to the very letter of the original text, having been perfectly inspired by the Holy Spirit, uncorrupted by sin and creaturely fallibility. The authority, infallibility, inerrancy, unity, consistency, and continuity of all Scripture is grounded in divine inspiration and is, therefore, vital to sound doctrine, integral to understanding, and indispensable to the application of the whole Christian faith. Scripture cannot contradict itself because God cannot lie. Therefore, Scripture is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises. (Joshua 1:8; Numbers 23:19; Psalm 19:7-11, 119:105; Matthew 4:4, 22:29, 24:35; Galatians 3:16; Colossians 3:16; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18)

We believe Holy Scripture is sufficient for teaching God’s gospel plan of salvation through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, which contains a written account of the necessary requirements for salvation, and is, therefore, profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that a believer may be proficient and “complete” in doctrine and discipleship, equipped for “every” good work and thus be conformed to the image of Christ, which testifies to the transformative power and truth of the gospel. (Galatians 5:22-26; Ephesians 2:8-10; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17)

and delivered them from their destruction.”
