The English word genesis comes from the same Greek word, which means the source, beginning, or origin of something. In the beginning God created all things, visible and invisible. Therefore, the origin is God, not matter, math, or laws. In the first eleven chapters of Genesis, the entire foundation for the Bible is introduced. All doctrines flow from how one understands Genesis. For instance, Adam and Eve were real people whom God intentionally and directly created. Scripture does not even hint at the idea that the beginning of humanity evolved by accident as the result of time and chance. God had a design and a purpose, which we abandoned through sin.
Yet this was not Plan B, God knew we would fall into sin and death, and He knew we would need a Saviour. That is where the One called Jesus Christ emerges. 1 Corinthians 15:45 says, “The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” Christ came to make us new creations! Born again in spirit and raised to new life upon His return, eternally glorified in body, soul, and spirit.
Praise be to God!
