The book of Revelation is a final unveiling of Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of Lords. Most people avoid reading it because they either find it too controversial or difficult to understand. Yet the book actually says that if we read it, listen to it and apply it to our lives, then we will be blessed by God!
Years ago, I remember telling the church I was pastoring at the time that I was going to begin a sermon series on Revelation. There was a deeply mixed reaction. About one-third of the church did not want me to, one-third looked forward to it, and one-third really did not care.
When we began this ministry, we now call Bible Discovery, in 1990, we committed ourselves to go through the entire Bible each year. The fact is, Revelation prophetically unveils the reality of the Christian faith––the true character, sovereign judgment, and deity of Jesus Christ. The first chapter introduces Him, the second and third chapters speak to His bride, specifically the seven churches in Asia Minor, and the rest seems to be a heavenly retelling of what was, what is, and what has yet to come. It is a spiritual story of Christ saving His bride from the coils of Satan, ending with the two becoming one flesh––the glorification of the saints.
So, for this final month of 2025, we will continue to go through the Bible ending at Revelation 22. Let’s open our hearts and minds and let the Holy Spirit speak to us.
“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10)
