Hearing from God

August Letter 2025

There are different kinds of prophecy presented in the Bible. Many, if not, most prophecies unveil hidden intentions or desires deep within the deceptively wicked heart of man, and other prophecies reveal God’s sovereign power over the cosmos, such as his foreknowledge about things yet to come. It is this latter kind of prophecy that people struggle with the most.

Many people in the world today don’t want to hear about prophecy. They especially do not want to hear that certain prophecies mentioned nearly three thousand years ago might be fulfilled right before our eyes. They feel that those who keep a close eye on the events unfolding in this world are driven by conspiracy theories, false doctrine, demonic influence and self-deception. Granted, sometimes this is true.

That is why it is critical for us, as Bible readers, to understand what prophecy is all about. Nearly that about one-third of the Bible is prophecy. That should not be overlooked, especially when there are still prophecies yet to be fulfilled, like the coming of the antichrist and Christ’s return. As we continue to read Ezekiel 37 and beyond, we find ourselves emersed in End Time events. Jerusalem and its Temple was destroyed in AD 70, and ethnic Israel was scattered across the world. Nearly two thousand years later in 1948, the nation Israel was reborn under the provision of the largely Christian West and is now a superpower in the Middle East. That the descendants of Jacob live on till this day is very interesting, and we should take note of what God may be doing and not reject it wholesale.
