In Conflict

November Letter 2024

How do we navigate through stressful times and conflict? There are many causes for times like that. Some causes we have witnessed this year in September. With storms like hurricane Helene that caused mass destruction across the southeast United States. Many people were killed, and homes demolished. Where was God in all of that? How should we think in times of great stress and disaster?

This month a divisive election will be held in the United States of America. Whatever happens, it seems that at least half of the country will be deeply disappointed and angry. Where is God in all of this?

Israel was brutally crushed when men and women were savagely killed and tortured on October 7, 2023. Their response to this has also yielded tragic results in 2024. Wars continue to rage on. Mankind continues to take his anger and wrath out on his own. So, where is God?

In both natural evils, and in our self-imposed evil and chaos there are many questions about where God is. If we are willing to allow Him, however, Jesus is ready to heal us! Christ is the giver of life and of free will, may we choose wisely.

Jesus came and lived among us without sin. He died, once and for all, to pay the cost of sin: death. When He rose again, He overcame the darkness of our souls. If we give Him our lives, then things will become very different in them. As we spread the word about Him and more and more accept Him, things will become very different in this world.

This month we will learn the details of how Jesus commanded His followers to live and deal with conflict on this earth. The New Testament is clear about how God shows Himself through the person of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man.
